INTRODUCTION
The affordable Digital High Definition Television (ADTV) uses the Zenith AB chassis series. This manual covers the 32, 36,
and 34 inch screen sizes. The chassis consists of two boards, the large signal and small signal. The large signal module
uses a daughter board for the deflection section and the small signal board uses a shielded board for HDTV signal
decoding. Currently the AB chassis is module level repair only. Schematics and PCB layouts are provided to assist in
troubleshooting.
These models are HDTVs and have a built-in ASTC tuner. They can receive off-air analog and/or digital broadcasts. The 34
inch models feature a 16:9 aspect ratio screen and the 32 and 36 inch are standard 4:3 aspect ratio. More features and
specifications are listed below.
FEATURES
INTEGRATED ATSC TUNER WITH 1080I
A fully integrated ATSC tuner offers users the ability
to receive off air high definition broadcasts (up to
1080i resolution) without the need for an external
set-top box.
ADVANCED 8-VSB CHIPSET TECHNOLOGY
Offers better indoor reception of off-air DTV broadcasts
and makes the procesing of broadcasted data possible.
FLAT FINE PITCH PICTURE TUBE
View HD content in it's highest resolution. Fine pitch
picture tube with Invar mask provides the sharpest
and clearest picture possible.
16:9/4:3 ASPECT RATIO CORRECTION
Allows users to view feature length movies in their
original wide screen format (16:9) or in regular TV
format (4:3).
3D Y/C COMB FILTER
Combines the adaptive digital processing of a 3-line
digital comb filter with 3-D motion detection.
Eliminates hanging dots and color noise on stationary
images. Reduces "dot crawl"and overall picture noise.

SCAN VELOCITY MODULATION
Dynamically varies the scanning speed of the electron
beam to create clear, well defined images for the sharpest
picture possible.
DYNAMIC FOCUS
Ensures accurate side-to-side focus. Red, green, and
blue color beams are accurately aligned in the center
of the screen.
COLOR TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Users can select between "warm" or "cool" presets to
control the ambiance and mood of the picture on the
screen.
FRONT SURROUND SOUND
Audio signals are manipulated to simulate three
dimensional sound delivered through two front
speakers.
MTS STEREO WITH SAP
Multi-Channel Television Sound (MTS) produces crisp,
clear stereo broadcasts. Second Audio Programming,
or SAP, is a separate audio signal that allows networks
to broadcast audio in different languages.
