HOOD RELEASE
Pull the hood release to open the counterbalanced
hood. If the hood must be slammed to insure closing, it
is in need of adjustment. A hard slam should not be
necessary.
GAS CAP
The gas cap is located in the left rear fender in all
models of the Chevy II passenger cars and station
wagons. Turn the cap to the left to open and to the
right to close. When closed the cap fits flush with the
fender. The cap is not vented.

REAR COMPARTMENT
Unlock and open the counterbalanced trunk lid with
the round-end key. Close the lid firmly to close the lock.
The spare tire and auto jack are located in the trunk as
shown. The illustration below illustrates proper jack and
tire stowage.
