This setting is only required if you are using the recorder's
COAXIAL/OPTICAL OUT socket to connect other audio/video
device.

This setting is only required if you are using the recorder's HDMI
OUT socket to connect your TV or other display device.

– The connected device supports multi-
channel audio formats. The digital audio
format will be output as on disc.
– The connected device does not support
multi-channel formats. The recorder
converts multi-channel to PCM (Pulse Code
Modulation) format.
– Auto selection of the best supported audio
output through the HDMI connection.
– Disable HDMI audio output. In this case, an
alternative audio connection is required
from the recorder to your TV.
– Disable digital audio input. 5.1-channel
recording from the external source is not
possible.
– Enable digital audio input from the device
connected to EXT 2-TO VCR/SAT or
DIGITAL/OPTICAL input socket on this
recorder.
