9. Press the retaining clip
Then, lift the power supply assembly out of the chassis.

10. Ensure that the new power supply assembly is the correct replacement.
11. Install the new power supply assembly into the chassis so that the screw holes in the power supply
assembly align with those in the chassis.
12. Install and tighten the three screws to secure the power supply assembly.
Note: Use only screws provided by Lenovo.
13. Reconnect the power supply assembly cables to the system board. See "Parts on the system board"
on page 33.
14. Reinstall the storage drive. See "Replacing the storage drive" on page 51.
15. Reinstall the optical drive. See "Replacing the optical drive" on page 49.
16. Reinstall the front bezel. See "Replacing the front bezel" on page 48.

Replacing the coin-cell battery

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1 .
Your computer has a special type of memory that maintains the date, time, and settings for built-in features,
such as parallel-connector assignments (configuration). A coin-cell battery keeps this information active
when you turn off the computer.
The coin-cell battery normally requires no charging or maintenance throughout its life; however, no coin-cell
battery lasts forever. If the coin-cell battery fails, the date, time, and configuration information (including
passwords) are lost. An error message is displayed when you turn on the computer.
Refer to the "Lithium coin-cell battery notice" in the Safety, Warranty, and Setup Guide for information about
replacing and disposing of the coin-cell battery.
To replace the coin-cell battery, do the following:

downward and slide the power supply assembly to the front of the computer.
