Using the Zoom

When you press the multi selector HI, the zoom lens
position changes.
To zoom in: Press H.
To zoom out: Press I.
When you turn the camera on, the zoom moves to
the maximum wide-angle position.
A zoom indicator is displayed on the shooting
screen when the multi selector HI is pressed.
Digital zoom, which allows you to
further magnify the subject up to
approximately 4× the maximum
optical zoom ratio, can be activated
by pressing H when the camera is
zoomed in to the maximum optical
zoom position.

Digital Zoom
The zoom indicator changes to blue when the digital zoom is activated, and it changes to
yellow when the zoom magnification is increased further.
Zoom indicator is blue: Image quality is not noticeably reduced by using the Dynamic Fine
Zoom.
Zoom indicator is yellow: There may be cases in which image quality is noticeably
reduced.
The indicator remains blue across a wider area when the image size is smaller.
