Scheduled Maintenance

Engine Oil Change
Change engine oil and filter when
indicated by the oil life system, at
15 000 km, or at one year, whichever
comes first. If driven under the best
conditions, the engine oil life system
may not indicate the need for vehicle
service for up to a year. The engine oil
and filter must be changed at least
once a year and the oil life system
must be reset. Your trained dealer
technician can perform this work.
If the engine oil life system is reset
accidentally, service the vehicle within
5 000 km/3,000 mi since the last
service. Reset the oil life system when
the oil is changed.
Vehicle Inspection
Inspect the following items when
indicated by the oil life system, at
15 000 km, or at one year, whichever
comes first:
Change the engine oil and filter.
Reset the oil life system.
Engine coolant level check.
Engine cooling system inspection.
Visual inspection of hoses, pipes,
fittings, and clamps and
replacement, if needed.
Windscreen washer fluid level
check.
Windscreen wiper blade inspection
for wear, cracking,
or contamination and windscreen
and wiper blade cleaning,
if contaminated. Worn or damaged
wiper blade replacement.
Tyre inflation pressures check.
Tyre wear inspection.
Fluids visual leak check. A leak in
any system must be repaired and
the fluid level checked.
Engine air cleaner filter inspection.
Brake system inspection. See
Exterior Care 0 333.
Steering and suspension
inspection. Visual inspection for
damaged, loose, or missing parts
or signs of wear.
SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
Lubricate the outer track rods at
least every other oil change.
Control arm ball joints are
maintenance free.
Body hinges and latches, key lock
cylinders, folding seat hardware,
and rear compartment, bonnet,
and console door hinges and
latches lubrication. More frequent
lubrication may be required when
the vehicle is exposed to a
corrosive environment. Applying
silicone grease on weatherstrips
with a clean cloth makes them last
longer, seal better, and not stick or
squeak.
Restraint system component
check.
Visually inspect fuel system for
damage or leaks.
Exhaust system and nearby heat
shields inspection for loose or
damaged components.
Accelerator pedal check for
damage, high effort, or binding.
