10 Controlling other equipment

VCR / DVD / LD player and DVD recorder controls

This remote control can control these components after
entering the proper codes (see Using the remote control
with other components on page 34).

Function
Press to switch the components between standby and on.
Press to return to the start of the current track or chapter.
Press to advance to the next track or chapter. Repeated presses skips
to the start of the following tracks or chapters.
Pause playback or recording
Hold down for fast-forward playback
Hold down for fast-reverse playback
Start playback
Stop playback (on some models, pressing this when the disc is already
stopped will cause the disc tray to open)
Use as ENTER
Press to change the search mode
Press to display the setup screen (or disc navigator)
Press to switch sides of a disc
Use as +10 button when entering numbers
Press to clear a numeric entry
Use to directly access tracks, etc. on a program source
Method 1: For numbers 1–9, use the number buttons. For numbers 10
and over, use the +10 button, e.g., +10, +10, 3 for 23.
Method 2: Use the number buttons followed by ENTER, e.g., 2, 3,
ENTER for 23.
Start recording. To prevent accidental recording, these buttons must
be pressed together
Display menus concerning the current DVD or DVR you're using
Display the top menu of the current DVD or DVR you're using
Use to go back to the previous menu page.
Change the audio track of discs with more than one audio track
Display/change the subtitle language on multilingual DVDs
Navigate DVD menus/options
Use to select channels
Press to start recording
Press to stop recording
Press to switch from DVD/CD to HDD playback mode
Press to switch from HDD to DVD/CD playback mode
