With the Series 8500 set-top terminal, you can request channels one at a
time and you can easily scan the n1any available channels before selecting
one program of interest. The Series 8500 set-top tern1inal offers a twenty-
channel men1ory so you can quickly survey programs on your favorite and
most frequently watched channels. These simple instructions tell how
to
use
all the features of your set-top terminal, including nun1erical channel selec-
tion, channel step through, favorite channel recall and parental control.
A hand-held remote control unit is also available from your cable operator.
The added convenience of rernote control enhances your enjoyrr1ent of the
wide variety of channels offered on your cable system.

Insert the electrical power plug frorn the television set into the outlet on the
back of the set-top terminal. Now you can turn the tv on by pressing any
button on the set-top tern1inal or rem.ate control unit. Turn the television

Select a channel sirr1ply by pressing the orresponding numbers on the set-
top tern1inal or rernote control unit keypad.
