 Setting the Temperature Control
The cabinet temperature is controlled by the thermostat located at the back of the unit in
the lower left corner. Rotate the dial to adjust the cabinet temperature.
The setting O indicates that the device is turned off.
Turning the temperature control clockwise from this setting turns the device on
automatically.
The settings 1 through 7 regulate the inside temperature. Setting 1 (minimum) results
in the warmest inside temperature, while setting 7 (maximum) results in the coldest
inside temperature.
During initial operation, turn the temperature control to the highest setting first, until the
device has reached the desired operating temperature. Afterwards, turn the control
back to a medium setting.
The optimum position of the temperature control depends on the temperature you
prefer. Cabinet temperature is affected by the ambient temperature, frequency of door
opening, the amount of stored food and the placement of the freezer. You should adjust
the control according to current conditions.
Generally, the temperature control is set at the midpoint of the dial. When room
temperature is lower than usual, place the dial at a lower setting. Conversely, if the room
temperature is higher than normal, adjust the thermostat to a higher setting.
NOTES:
Turning the temperature control to the O position stops the cooling cycle but does not
shut off the power to the unit.
If the unit is unplugged, power lost, or turned off; you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before
restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the unit will not start.

Using the Freezer

This compartment is designed for the long term storage of frozen food.
The storage life of frozen foods varies and the recommended storage time should not be
exceeded. The instructions regarding the care of frozen foods should be followed when
defrosting the unit.
Pre-packed commercially frozen food should be stored in accordance with the frozen
foods manufacturer's instructions for a three star frozen food storage compartment or
home freezer.
Place frozen food into the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase. If there are
instructions on the packet, carefully follow these instructions regarding storage times.
 Defrosting Your Unit
When? For the most efficient operation and minimum energy consumption, defrost the unit
when the frost on the evaporator wall is excessive or ¼ inch thick.
How? Remove the frozen food from the unit and place it in a cooler to protect the food. To
start defrosting, turn the temperature control to O, unplug the unit and remove the food
and shelf. After the frost or ice has melted, use a clean sponge or towel to remove the
melt water, then thoroughly dry the interior of the unit. The unit can be restarted by
turning the thermostat to the desired setting.
