Saving the running configuration

To make configuration changes take effect at the next startup of the device,
configuration to the startup configuration file before the device reboots.

Enabling configuration file auto-save
When the configuration file auto-save is enabled, and the current configuration saved with save [ safely ]
[ backup | main ] [ force +Enter] or save filename all+Enter:
The master and a subordinate automatically save the current configuration to the specified
configuration file.
This file is used as the startup configuration file, keeping the consistency of the configuration files on
the master and the subordinate.
If the configuration file auto-save is not enabled, and the current configuration is saved with save [ safely ]
[ backup | main ] +Enter or save filename all+Enter:
Only the master automatically saves the current configuration to the specified configuration file.
The file is used as the configuration file for the next startup.
The slave (subordinate) neither saves the configuration file nor configures the file for the next startup.
Follow these steps to enable the configuration file auto-save function:

The configuration file must have the .cfg extension.
Whether save [ safely ] [ backup | main ] [ force ] +Enter or save filename all+Enter takes effect on
all member switches or only on the master depends on whether the configuration file auto-save
function is enabled. For the configuration file auto-save function, see
auto-save."
Executing save [ safely ] and save [ safely ] main has the same effect: The system saves the current
configuration and specifies the configuration file as the main startup configuration file.
During the execution of the save [ backup | main ] command, the startup configuration file may be
lost if the switch reboots or the power supply fails. The switch boots with the factory default
configuration, and after the switch reboots, you must re-specify a startup configuration file (see
"Specifying a startup configuration
