Volume control

Adjust VOLUME button (or press VOL +/-) to
increase or decrease the volume level.
➜ "VOL XX" is displayed. "XX"denotes the volume level.
For Philips TVs only
G Press TV VOL +/- on the remote control to adjust the
TV's volume level.
To listen through the headphones
G Connect the headphones plug to the n socket at the
front of the player.
➜ The speakers will be muted.
To switch off the volume temporarily
G Press MUTE.
➜ Playback will continue without sound and "MUTE" is
displayed.
G To restore the volume, press MUTE again.

Adjusting the tone

The BASS (low tone) and TREBLE (high tone) feature
enables you to define the sound-processor settings.
Press BASS or TREBLE on the system to select Bass or

Treble sound feature.
While in Bass or Treble adjustment mode, adjust VOLUME

knob to select the desired Bass or Treble level.
Notes:
– The volume knob can be used to adjust Bass/Treble level
immediately after you have selected the respective Bass/Treble
sound feature. If the volume knob is not used within 5
seconds, it will become normal volume control function.
– If no button is pressed within a few seconds, the player will
exit the tone mode automatically.

Dimming the display screen

G Press DIM repeatedly to select different levels of
brightness for the display screen : HIGH, MID or LOW.
