Advantages and Precautions to Note
When Connecting the Split Device with MAIN and BACKUP
As shown in the figure below, using the S-4000-SP for REAC connections with MAIN and BACKUP allows one
splitter to ensure continued REAC transmissions even if the other splitter fails.
However, REAC transmissions will not be switched if there is a failure in the MAIN REAC cable connected to the
split device. Accordingly, no audio will be output from the split device under such circumstances.
This is due to the fact that REAC split devices are designed exclusively for the reception of signals only, so even
if a split unit should detect an error, it cannot communicate this back to the Master Device.

Carry out the following steps in the event a transmission failure to the split device prevents the transmission of
