Puron refrigerant
operates
at50-70 percent higher pressures
than R-22. B esure t hat s ervicing equipnrent

cylinders

Puron refrigerant
cylinders manufactured
prior t oMarch 1 ,1999, have a clip tube t hat a llows liquid toflo``v out o fcylinder in
upright position. Cylinders
manufactured
March 1,1999 a nd later DO NOT have adiptube and MUST b epositioned
upside down
toallow liquid toflow.
Recovery
cylinder service pressure
rating m ust be400 psig. DOT 4BA400 orDOT BW400.
Puron systems
should becharged
with liquid refrigerant.
Use acommercial-type
metering
device inthe manifold hose.
Manifold sets s hould be750 psig high side a nd 200 psig lowside w ith 520 psig lowside r etard.
Use hoses with 750 psig service pressure
rating.
Leak d etectors
should bedesigned
todetect HFC refrigerant.
Puron, as with other HFCs. isonly compatible
with POE oils.
Vacuum pumps willnot r emove moisture from oil.
Only u se factory-specified
liquid-line filter d riers withrated working pressures
noless t han 600 psig.
Donot i nstall asuction-line
filter d rier inliquid line.
POE oils absorb moisture
rapidly. Donot e xpose oiltoatmosphere.
POE oils may c ause damage
tocertain plastics and roofing m aterials.
Wrap a llfilter d riers and service valves ``vith ,,vet cloth when b razing.
APuron liquid-line filter drier i srequired onevery unit.
Donot u se an R-22 TXV.
Never open s ystem toatmosphere
while itisunder avacuum.
When s ystem m ust beopened forservice, break vacuum withdry nitrogen and replace filter d riers.
Donot v ent Puron into the atmosphere.
Observe
allwarnings, cautions, and
bold text.
Do not leave Puron suction
line driers in place for more than 72 hrs.
