VIDEO SYS (system) Button

Press repeatedly when playback is
stopped to set the Player's Color
System to NTSC, PAL, or MULTI.

PBC ON/OFF Button

Press to turn Playback Control on or
off when playing a Video CD. Details
are on page 30.

Number Buttons

Use to select numbered items in a
Disc menu. Details are on page 20.
Press to select a Track for playback.
Use the +10 button to enter Tracks
above nine. For example, to select
Track 18, press +10, then 8.

TITLE Button

Press to access a DVD's Title menu.
Details are on page 20.

DISC MENU Button

Press to access a DVD's Disc menu.
Details are on page 20.

OK Button

Press to acknowledge a menu
selection.
STOP/RETURN C Button
Press to stop playback.
SLOW REV (reverse) Button
Press to play a Disc backward in
slow motion.
PREV (previous) w Button

Chapter/Track.
NEXT ∑ Button
Press to go to the next
Chapter/Track.
SLOW FWD (forward) Button
Press to play a Disc forward in slow
motion.

SEARCH Button

Press to search for a specific
Chapter or elapsed playing time.

PREVIEW Button

Press to preview Video CD Tracks.
Details are on page 30.

SOUND MODE Button

Press to choose an audio language or
sound mode (STEREO to hear the
right and left channels of sound,
MONO RIGHT to hear the right
channel of sound, or MONO LEFT to
hear the left channel of sound).

SOUND 3D Button

This button has no function.
SPEAKERS/ y , VOLUME +/-, BASS +/-, TREBLE +/-, INPUT
1-2-3, and SPEAKERS/MUTE only operate certain Philips
Receivers that are connected to the Player's MULTI-5.1 jack.

DISPLAY Button

Press repeatedly during playback to see
the elapsed or remaining playing time of
a Chapter, Title, Track, or Disc.
DVD y y Button
Press to turn on or off the Player.

REPEAT Button

Press to play a Chapter, Title, Track, or
Disc repeatedly. Details are on page 24.

REPEAT A-B Button

Press to set up Repeat A-B playback, in
which a certain segment of the Track
or Title plays repeatedly. Details are on
page 24.

CLEAR Button

Press to erase an FTS Program. Details
are on page 27.

PROGRAM FTS Button

Press to access Favorite Track
Selection. Details are on page 27.

SYSTEM MENU Button

Press to access or remove the Player's
System Menu.
PLAY/PAUSE M Button
Press to start or pause playback.
REV (reverse) h Button
Press to search backward during play-
back. Details are on page 21.
FWD (forward) g Button
Press to search forward during play-

SUBTITLE i
Press to select an available subtitle lan-
guage. Details are on page 25.
ANGLE } } Button
Press to select a different camera angle
during DVD playback. Multiple angles
must be available on the Disc. Details

ZOOM a
Press to enlarge the picture. Details are

AUDIO Y Y Button
Press to select a different language or
soundtrack during DVD playback. Multiple
languages or soundtracks must be avail-
able on the DVD. Details are on page 25.
SPEAKERS/y y Button
Press to turn on or off the speakers.

VOLUME +/- Buttons

Press to adjust the speakers' volume.
BASS +/- Buttons
Press to adjust the speakers' bass.
TREBLE +/- Buttons
Press to adjust the speakers' treble.
INPUT 1-2-3 Button
Press to choose a sound source or
input at the Receiver.
SPEAKERS/MUTE Button
Press to mute the Receiver's speakers.
