Self-timer

The camera is equipped with a self-timer that releases the shutter about 10
seconds or 2 seconds after you press the shutter-release button. Set Photo VR
to Off in the setup menu (A54) when using a tripod to stabilize the camera
during shooting.

Press the multi selector J (n).

Select n 10s or n 2s, and press
the k button.
n 10s (10 seconds): Use on important
occasions, such as weddings.
n 2s (2 seconds): Use to prevent camera
shake.
If the setting is not applied by pressing the
k button within a few seconds, the
selection will be canceled.
When the shooting mode is Pet portrait scene mode, Y (pet portrait auto
release) is displayed (E7). The self-timer cannot be used.
When the shooting mode is smart portrait mode, a (smile timer) or n (self-
collage) can also be selected (A25).

Frame the picture and press the shutter-release button
halfway.
Focus and exposure are set.
