Exhaust system

E 350, E 350 CGI, E 500
The exhaust system of the V6 gasoline engines
(M 272) and the V8 gasoline engine (M 273)
features one of the following for each cylinder bank:
• Firewall catalytic converter
• Front muffler
• Underfloor catalytic converter
• Center muffler
• Rear muffler
The connecting points in the exhaust system are
located downstream of the air gap-insulated mani-
fold, downstream of the underfloor catalytic
converter and downstream of the center muffler.
Vehicles with M 272 are fitted with a trim finisher
on the tail pipe, while with the M 273 the finisher is
integrated in the bumper cover.
