Some keys that are available on a standard keyboard are not available on the
QuickPanel View Keypad, including Escape, Caps Lock, and tilde (~).
Note: Characters that are unavailable via the keypad can typically be accessed via
the Soft Input Panel (see page 35).
The Fn key enables the alternate character set on the function/alpha keypad and on
the numeric keypad. If Fn is not active, the function keys report as F1 through F26
and the numeric keys report as 0 to 9, the decimal point (.), and the minus symbol
(-). If Fn is active, the keys report as the labels on their upper right indicate.
For a list of keyboard operating system shortcuts, see page 13.
• Press and release the Fn key once to enable the alternate character set. Press it again to disable the alternate
character set.
When the Fn key is pressed once, an icon displays in the system tray.
