Maintenance of Monobloc Systems

The Samsung EHS units should be maintained at least once per year to comply with the warranty terms and RHI.
Maintenance procedure
To start the maintenance procedure, stop the unit, clean the dirt filter within manufacturer's recommendations and replace.
Now it's best to check for any damage to the outdoor unit such as severe dents and or debris, check the fin coils on the unit and make sure the airflow is
clear.
To clean the unit make sure that you don't use any corrosive fluids, normally products such as turtle wax makes a good finish.
The next thing to do would be to test the concentration of the glycol to water in the system, this should be at 25%. If you don't have a refractometer then
please contact Solfex, refill the unit, pressure should be 0-3 bar.
Next is to test the operation of the system, firstly draw off around 50-60 litres of water. The heat pump should now automatically start up in hot water mode,
if it doesn't, press the DHW on/off power button and within 6 minutes the heat pump will start in hot water mode. You will be able to see that it is in hot
water mode when the can symbol appears.
The heat pump should be able to reach 48°C without help from the immersion heater. Whist the heat pump is running you can start doing other checks.
Hot water Cylinder
To check the cylinder firstly you want to check the immersion connections and make sure that the blue tank sensor is still correctly in place. Also, make sure
that the immersion heater is set to 70°C.
Next, press the mode button until the bath symbol pops up on the screen, this will now activate the immersion heater, check that this is now live by
measuring the current from the immersion, this should be between 12-13 amps.
The next thing to do is to check the temperature of the flow on the controller by pressing the oval view button.
To make sure that there are not going to be any flow issues, run the unit in hot water mode, record the flow rate, then run it in heating mode with all zones
closed and record the flow rate. This should be as below;
• 5 kW - 12 L/min
• 9 kW - 20 L/min
• 16 kW - 30 L/min
The last step is to have the unit running full tilt, record the temperature of the air at the back of the unit and the temperature in the surrounding area i.e.
garden, these should be the same temperature. It is important that the air is not recirculating.
