ABS anti-lock brake system

The anti-lock brake system is one the
advanced control system of vehicle
which prevents lockage of the wheels
when braking on the slippery surfaces
or braking hard on the dry roads, so
causes the decrease of the stopping
distance, increase of directional control,
improving the stability and increase of
the vehicle's safety in general. Please
take note of the followings when your
vehicle is equipped with anti-lock brake
system:
-Since the anti-lock brake system is only
one stabilizer of the braking force, you
should push the braking pedal fully. When
you brake on the slippery roads or braking
hard, you may feel the brake pedal moves

a little which is normal and is resulted
from function of the ABS SYSTEM.
continue pushing the braking pedal with
self-confidence and be sure of the correct
function of the braking system.
-If you hear a pulse-like noise from
front and rear wheels when braking
on slippery road or braking hard, it is
normal and due to correct function of the
ABS system.
-The ABS system is equipped with
auto-tester system which causes the
ABS warning light on the display of the
instrument panel, comes on when there
is a fault in ABS SYSTEM.
-ABS warning indicator in instrument
panel comes on when you start the
engine and then turns off after a few
seconds. Should the ABS warning
indicator does not come on when starting
the engine or remains on, this indicates
there is a fault in the ABS. So, have the
system inspected by authorized dealer
to test it by computerized tester.
If there be any fault in the ABS system,
your vehicle's brake system will function as
an ordinary brake system that has no ABS.
-If the ABS warning light and Brake
system warning light on the instrument

the parking brake is not pulled, pull off
the road and stop carefully and contact
with an authorized dealer.
Bear in mind that cessation distance of
the vehicle, after braking will be more,
while driving in slippy surfaces. The
lining and discs get wet while the vehicle
is passing through puddles and also
after washing the vehicle ;therefore test
the brake to ensure of proper functioning
of them by pressing them several times.
Notice
- Avoid driving high speed especially
on slippery roads relaying on ABS
system. Observe safety cautions all
the times.
- Have ABS system inspected and
repaired only by authorized dealer.
