Backing Up, Restoring, or Erasing Your Settings The configuration settings of the modem are stored in a configuration file in the modem. This file can be backed up to your computer, restored, or reverted to factory default settings. The procedures below explain how to do these tasks.

    The software of the modem is stored in FLASH memory, and can be upgraded as new software is released by NETGEAR. Upgrade files can be downloaded from NETGEAR’s Web site. If the upgrade file is compressed (.ZIP file), you must first extract the binary (.BIN or .IMG) file before uploading it to the modem.

The lower table provides information about the quality of upstream and downstream data. These statistics will be of interest to your technical support representative if you are having problems obtaining or maintaining a connection.
