    Powering the Camera (Using CR-V3) Installing the Batteries Install batteries in the camera. Use one CR-V3, or use two AA lithium batteries, AA Ni-MH batteries, or AA alkaline batteries. Slide the battery cover in the direction indicated, and flip open. Insert the batteries according to the +/- indicator in the battery chamber.

    Using the AC Adapter When using the LCD monitor for a long time or when connecting to your PC, we recommend using the AC adapter kit D-AC5 (sold separately). Make sure the camera is turned off before opening the terminal cover. Connect the DC terminal on the AC adapter to the DC input terminal on the camera.

    Initial Settings Setting the Display Language You can choose the language in which the menus, error messages, etc. are displayed from the following: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Japanese.     Taking Still Pictures This is the simplest way to take still pictures. The flash discharges automatically based on light conditions by the default setting. Press the power switch. The camera will turn on. Confirm the subject and shooting information on the LCD monitor. The focus frame at the center of the LCD screen indicates the zone of automatic focusing.

    Deleting a Displayed Image While the image is displayed, press the i button to display the Delete screen. Press the four-way controller (2) to select Delete, and press OK. The image is deleted.     Using Your CF Card Pictures taken with this camera are recorded on the compact flash (CF) card. You can view the pictures recorded on the CF card on the camera itself, transfer them to your PC, or print them. Viewing Images on the Camera One advantage of a digital camera is that you can check the picture as soon as you take it.
