Defining and Modifying the Fixed Area
If
you want a Fixed Area on a disk cartridge, you
must not only instruct the monitor to create one,
but you must specify its size.
If
you want a Fixed Area of 20 cylinders, you can
run the job

You should keep a record of whether a particular
cartridge has a Fixed Area or not.
If
you ran the
first job, then forgot you ran it, and ran it again,
you would have a 41-cylinder Fixed Area. When in
doubt you may use the DUMPLET DUP option, which
will print the contents of FLET.
