Using Surround Sound

Click EQ.
The EQ EDIT menu appears.

Click SLOPE to select the type of adjustment you
want: NARROW (to adjust a specific frequency),
MEDIUM (to a small group of frequencies), or
WIDE (to adjust a broad range of frequencies).

Click BASS, MID, or TREBLE to select a frequency
band.

Click B or b to select the frequency to be adjusted.
Click V or v to raise or lower the level of the
selected frequency.
Note
You may hear some noise as you adjust the parameters.

Repeat steps 5 through 7 for other frequency
bands until you obtain the equalization curve you
desire.
To start adjustment with a flat equalizer curve
Click FLAT.
To reset the tone parameter of the selected sound field
to the original factory settings
Click STANDARD.
To exit to the main menu
Click EXIT.

Click VOL + or –.
Adjusting surround sound parameters
Change the surround parameters to fit your listening
situation. Refer to the chart on the next page for
parameters you can adjust in each sound field.
To adjust the parameters of the PRO LOGIC sound
field, see "Getting the Most Out of Dolby Pro Logic
Surround Sound" on page 31.

Start playing a program source, then click
SOUND in the main menu.

Click the genre of sound field you want to reset.
The previously selected mode turns on
automatically.

Click MODE repeatedly to select the mode you
want to adjust.

Click SUR.
The SUR EDIT menu appears.

Click the icon for the parameter you want to
adjust. The respective parameter chart appears
on-screen.
