Cleaning—otltside
The door handles and trim canbe
cleaned with a cloth dampenedwith
a solutionof mildliquiddishwashing
detergentand water. Dry with a soft
cloth. Don'twax handles or trim.
Keep the finish clean. Wipewith
a clean cloth, lightly dampened
with kitchen appliance wax or mild
liquid dishwashingdetergent. Dry
and polish with a clean, softcloth.
Do not wipe the refrigeratorwith a
soiled dishwashingcloth or wet
towel.These may leavea residuethat
can darnagethe paint.
Do
not use
scouring pads, powdered cleaners,
bleach, or cleaners containing
bleach, because these products can
scratch and weaken the paint finish.
Protect the paint fiish. The ftish
on the outside of the refrigerator is
a high quality,baked-onpaintfinish.
With proper care, it will staynew-
looking and rust-free for years.
Apply a coat of kitchen/appliance
wax when the refrigerator is new,
and then at least twice a year.

Clean the inside of the fresh food
and freezer compartments at least
once a year. Unplug refrigerator
beforecleaning.If this is not practical,
wring excessmoistureout of sponge
or cloth when cleaning around
switches, lights or controls.

warm water and baking soda
solution—about a tablespoon of
baking soda to a quart of water.
This both cleans and neutralizes
odors. Rinse thoroughly with water
and wipe dry.
Other parts of the refrigerator—
inchding door gaskets, vegetable
drawers and all plastic parts—can
be cleaned the same way. Do not
use cieansi ng powders or other
abrasive cleaners.
Tohelp preventodors, leave
an open box of bakingsoda in the
rear of the refrigerator,on the top
shelf. Changethe boxevery three
months. An open box of baking
soda in the freezer willabsorb stale
freezer odors.
Do not wash any of your
refrigerator% plastic parts in
your automatic dishwasher.
Behind
refrigerator
Care should be mkenin moving
your refrigeratorawayfrom the
wall. All types of floor coverings
can be damaged, particularly
cushionedcoveringsand those
with embossed surfaces. Before
movingthe refrigerator,place a
hard-surfaced strip under the front
levelingscrews to help prevent
floor coveringdamage.

The defrost water pan, located on
top of the compressor at the rear
of the refrigerator, should be
cleaned twice a year. DO N~
REMOVE THE PAN. Move the
refrigerator out from the wall as far
as necessary, and unplug the power
cord from the wall outlet before
wiping the pan with a clean cloth or
sponge dampened in warm water
and baking soda solution—one
tablespoon of baking soda to a
quart of water. Do not use
cleansing powders, abrasive
cleaners, bleach or cleaners
containing chlorides.
Limp bulb

A lightbulb and socketare locatedat

behind the temperaturecontrol
panel. To replace the bulb, unplug
refrigeratorhorn its electricaloutlet,
unscrew bulb when cool and
replace with similar size bulb.

For extendedvacationsor
absences, removefood and shut off
power to the refrigerator. Clean the
interior with baking soda solution
of one tablespoonof soda to one
quart of water.Wipedry. Toprevent
odors, leaveopen box of soda in
refrigerator. Leavedoors open.
For shorter vacations, remove
perishable foodsand leave controls
at regular settings.However,if room
temperature is expected to drop
below60"F.,followsame instructions
as for extended vacations.

Disconnect the power cord from
the wall outlet, remove all food,
and clean and dry the interior.
Secure all loose items such as
shelves and storagepans by taping
them securely in place to prevent
damage.
Be sure the refrigerator staysin
an uprightposition only during
actual moving and in the van. The
refrigerator must be secured in the
van to prevent movement. Protect
the outside of the refrigerator with
a blanket.
