Draining the Fuel Tank and Carburetor
1. Empty the fuel tank into an approved gasoline container.
2. Remove the carburetor drain bolt with a 10 mm wrench, and drain the
carburetor bowl fuel into an approved container.
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive.
You can be burned or seriously injured when handling fuel.
• Stop the engine and keep heat, sparks, and flame away.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
3. Turn the fuel valve to the ON posi-
tion (see page 24). This will allow
fuel in the fuel tank to drain
through the carburetor bowl. After
the fuel is completely drained,
reinstall the sealing washer and
the drain bolt.
Engine Oil
Change the engine oil (see page 47).
Engine Cylinder
1. Remove the spark plug (see pages 50 and 51).
2. Pour 5 - 10 cc of clean engine oil into the cylinder.
3. Pull the starter grip several times to distribute the oil in the cylinder.
Reinstall the spark plug.
4. Pull the starter grip slowly until resistance is felt, then return the starter
grip gently. This closes the valves so moisture cannot enter.
