After the IRF fabric is recovered, all ports that have been shut down by MAD automatically come up.
Fast-restoring IRF configuration for a one-MPU
member
CAUTION:
Use the set irf commands only for fast-restoring IRF configuration. This command might cause unknown
errors in other application scenarios.
If a member switch has only one MPU, you must re-configure the basic IRF settings for the switch after its
MPU is damaged. This section describes a fast approach to restoring IRF configuration for one-MPU
member switches.
NOTE:
HP recommends performing fast IRF configuration restoration in IRF mode.
The recovery procedure differs depends on whether a two-MPU member switch is available. This section
assumes that the failed member switch is Switch A.
If a two-MPU member switch (Switch B in this example) is available, use the following procedure:
Step
1.
Save
configuration file used at the next startup.
2.
Change Switch B's member ID on the standby
MPU to be the same as that of Switch A.
3.
Remove the damaged MPU from Switch A, and
insert Switch B's standby MPU into Switch A.
If each member switch has only one MPU, use the following procedure:
Step
1.
Save the running configuration to the
configuration file used at the next startup.
2.
Insert a new MPU into any member switch
working correctly, for example, Switch B.
3.
Copy the configuration file on Switch B's
active MPU to the standby MPU.
4.
Set the configuration file for next startup.
5.
Change Switch B's member ID on the standby
MPU to be the same as that of Switch A.
