PERIODIC SERVICE
CAUTION
To avoid personal injury:
A When the battery is being activated,
hydrogen and oxygen gases in the
battery are extremely explosive.
Keep open sparks and flames away
from the battery at all times,
especially
when
battery.
A When charging the battery, remove
the battery vent plugs.
A When disconnecting the cable from
the battery, start with the negative
terminal,
and

first.

1. Make sure each electrolyte level is to the bottom of
vent wells, if necessary, add only distilled water in a

the negative to the negative, then recharge in the
standard fashion.
3. Quick recharging charges the battery at a high rate
in a short time. This is only for emergencies.
4. Recharge the battery as early as possible, or battery
life will be extremely shortened.
5. When exchanging an old battery for a new one, use

1. When storing the engine for long periods of time,
remove the battery, adjust the electrolyte to the
proper level, and store in a dry and dark place.
2. The battery naturally discharges while it is stored.
Recharge it once a month in summer, and every 2
months in winter.
