Graphing modes define the graphing parameters.
graphing mode plots functions, where Y is a function of X.
FUNCTION
graphing mode plots relations, where X and Y are functions of T.
PARAMETRIC
graphing mode plots functions, where r is a function of q.
POLAR
graphing mode plots sequences.Three sequences are available:
SEQUENCE
u, v, and w as functions of n.

You can change individual line styles in the Y=editor.
Note:
plotting mode resets all Y= line styles to a thick line connecting each
THICK
point calculated for the selected functions.
: The THICK plotting mode on the TI-84 Plus CE is equivalent to the
Note
plotting mode on the TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators.
CONNECTED
plotting mode resets all Y= line styles to a large dot and plots only
DOT-THICK
the calculated points of the selected functions.
: The DOT-THICK plotting mode on the TI-84 Plus CE is equivalent to the
Note
plotting mode on the TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators.
DOT
plotting mode resets all Y= line styles to a thin line connecting each point
THIN
calculated for the selected functions.
: Use THIN plotting mode for function graphing when looking at any
Note
functions which asymptote to an axis.
plotting mode resets all Y= line styles to a small dot and plots only
DOT-THIN
the calculated points of the selected functions.
Graphs as:
Thick line style (default). More pixels displayed around a
plotted point (pixel).
Large dot plotting. (3x3 pixels) Equivalent to DOT on earlier
TI-84 Plus family calculators.
Thin line style (graphing per pixel).
DOT display is 1 pixel per dot graphed.
