Remote Installation Initial Settings The following section provides instructions for setting the IP address for the OmniView SMB Remote IP Device. Step 1 Identifying the IP Address Once your IP Device has been connected to your network and is powered up, a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server on your network will automatically assign the IP Device an IP address, gateway address, and subnet mask. -

Remote Installation Step 6 Serial Settings The SMB Remote IP Device supports one serial device, which can be attached using the included serial cable. The serial device can be accessed remotely via the IP Device’s VT100 serial terminal emulation. If you have a serial device connected to the Switch, such as a power distribution unit (PDU), you must configure the serial (RS232) settings. -

Remote Installation Idle Timeout Select the maximum time allowed for inactivity before the user is disconnected from the remote session. Choose “No Timeout” to disable the Idle Timeout feature. By default, the timeout inactivity period is set to 10 minutes. Remote Installation Restore Factory Settings You can restore the IP Device to its original factory settings. This restores the original parameters, resetting all the information added by the administrators, including: network settings, servers, switches, users, and passwords. Console: Un termine unico che comprende tastiera, monitor video e mouse collegati ad uno switch KVM. Porta della console: Le prese per collegare la console allo switch KVM. - Page 335 Glossario KVM: Letteralmente “Keyboard Video Mouse” (tastiera, video, mouse), questo termine fa riferimento alla tecnologia che consente di controllare due o più computer tramite una tastiera, un monitor e un mouse. Alcuni switch basati sulla tecnologia KVM, consentono la condivisione di altre periferiche, quali altoparlanti, microfoni e stampanti.
