Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting
1Seg is a service that uses a part of the radio wave of Digital Terrestrial
Broadcasting and enables you to watch TV or data broadcasting
programs with cellphones or other mobile devices, in the same way as
watching them at home.
This service is called One-segment broadcasting (1Seg) since the 6MHz
wave range of Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting is divided into 13
segments, to use one of them for the broadcasting.
Before Using EZ Television (1Seg)
• Perform initialization before using the service. If you have not
performed initialization yet, see page 17.
• Any fee for packet or other transmission is not charged when watching
EZ Television (1Seg). However, you are charged for packet
communication if you access the services such as Program
Information or Information Window.
• Any fee for packet or other transmission is not charged when watching
data broadcasting programs for EZ Television (1Seg). However, you
are charged for packet communication if you use the interactive
service provided on data broadcasting programs or access the
information sites of EZweb.
• EZ Television (1Seg) is not available after you terminate the use of
your W51SA.
• When the battery level is "

Television (1Seg), EZ Television ends automatically.
• The duration available for viewing with the W51SA
5 hours and 5 minutes (DBEX OFF)/4 hours and 55 minutes (DBEX ON).
It is subject to change due to the operation of the data broadcasting.

• Deteriorated image, poor image or sound quality or reception failure
may occur in mountainous areas, near buildings, in underpasses, in
tunnels, or indoors because of poor TV reception. Try the following to
improve the reception of the radio wave:
Extend the W51SA Antenna (for EZ Television (1Seg)/EZ
locate the direction for the best reception.
When you are indoors, take your W51SA as close to a window as possible.
• 1Seg has been introduced in Tokyo/Nagoya/Osaka and some other
areas since April 1st, 2006. See the websites below for more details.
