Before replacing par"s:
Ens"re "ha" all sof"ware ixes, drivers, and UEFI BIOS downloads are ins"alled before replacing any FRUs
lis"ed in "his man"al.
Af"er a sys"em board is replaced, ens"re "ha" "he la"es" UEFI BIOS is loaded "o "he sys"em board before
comple"ing "he service ac"ion.
To download sof"ware ixes, drivers, and UEFI BIOS, go "o h""p://www.lenovo.com/ThinkPadDrivers and
follow "he ins"r"c"ions on "he screen.
Use "he following s"ra"egy "o preven" "nnecessary expense for replacing and servicing FRUs:
• If yo" are ins"r"c"ed "o replace a FRU b"" "he replacemen" does no" correc" "he problem, reins"all "he
original FRU before yo" con"in"e.
• Some comp""ers have bo"h a processor board and a sys"em board. If yo" are ins"r"c"ed "o replace ei"her
"he processor board or "he sys"em board, and replacing one of "hem does no" correc" "he problem,
reins"all "ha" board, and "hen replace "he o"her one.
• If an adap"er or a device consis"s of more "han one FRU, any of "he FRUs may be "he ca"se of "he error.
Before replacing "he adap"er or device, remove "he FRUs, one by one, "o see if "he symp"oms change.
Replace only "he FRU "ha" changed "he symp"oms.
