Attaching and Detaching a Lens

The camera is compatible with all Canon EF and EF-S lenses. The
camera cannot be used with EF-M lenses.
Attaching a Lens
White index
Image Conversion Factor
Since the image sensor size is
smaller than the 35mm film
format, the angle of view of an
attached lens will be equivalent
to that of a lens with approx. 1.6x
of the focal length indicated.

Remove the caps.

Attach the lens.

Red index
Set the lens's focus mode switch

to <AF>.
Remove the front lens cap.

Remove the rear lens cap and the
body cap by turning them as shown
by the arrows.
Align the lens's red or white mount
index with the camera's mount index
of the same color. Turn the lens as
shown by the arrow until it clicks in
place.
<AF> stands for autofocus.
<MF> stands for manual focus.
Autofocus will not operate.

(22.4 x 15.0 mm / 0.88 x 0.59 in.)
35mm image size
(36 x 24 mm / 1.42 x 0.94 in.)
