Changing the shutter speed for
shooting pictures
This function allows you to set the shutter speed manually. The camera
sets the aperture automatically. Set the shutter speed according to the
subject and the type of effect you want.
Setting a fast shutter speed lets you
capture fast-moving action as though it
was stopped in motion.

speed.
s : Sets the shutter speed faster.
r : Sets the shutter speed slower.
Shutter speed range:
1/2 to 1/1000
(when [NOISE REDUCTION] is set
to [ON]: up to 4 seconds)
• When the exposure is correct, the
shutter speed is displayed in green.
When the correct exposure cannot be obtained, the shutter speed is
displayed in red.
Note
• To avoid camera movement, you are recommended to use a tripod when taking
pictures requiring a slow shutter speed.
Setting a slow shutter speed blurs a
moving subject, giving the impression
of movement.
