Assembly
Mounting the Protective Devices

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Auxiliary handle

For all work with the machine, the auxiliary
handle must be mounted.
For safety reasons, is mandatory the use of the
side handle 10 supplied with this product, and
which insures.

Mounting the polish tools

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.

Use only accessories whose allowable speed
is at least as high as the no-load speed of the
machine. BOSCH will not liable for problems
arising from inadequate use or from the
assembly of accessories / devices or similar
out of specification, developed by third parties
in order to attend the client's specifics needs.
Make sure the accessory is in perfect conditions.
Damaged or worn out accessories do not
produce well and damage the workpiece.
Clean the parts to be mounted.
Rubber Sanding Plate
See graphics page for the mounting sequence.
Before mounting the rubber sanding plate 4, put
F 000 622 213 | 09.2008
the 2 spacer discs 3 onto the grinder spindle 2.
Screw on the round nut 6 and tighten with the
two-pin spanner 7.
Warning!. Never press the button 2 with the
motor running, for this will damage the
transmission system.

Adjustment of the transmission housing
Only to GWS 21 U
In order to make the
handling still easier,
Sander allows the
regulation of the
transmission housing 12
in a 90° scale.
Unplug the tool, clean it,
remove the accessory (if there is any attached),
remove the screws 11 and turn the housing 12 90°
(don't pull it forwards). Reinstall and retighten
screws 11 carefully.
Operation
Starting Operation
Before connecting the plug into the any electric
socket, be sure that the voltage is the same as
indicated on the toll's name plate. The voltage in
excess will increase the accessory peripheral
speed; reduced voltage reduces speed too. In
both cases the motor set will be damaged and
the end user will be explosed at hazards.
Tools with a rating of 230V can also be connected
to a 220V supply.
Switching On/Off
Momentary activation:
Turn on - push button 9 partially and press the
trigger 8.
Turn off - release trigger 8.
Continuous activation:
Turn on - push button 9, press trigger 8 and at
the same time push button 9.
Turn off - press and release trigger 8.
Test run! Check grinding tools before use. The
grinding tool must be properly mounted and turn
freely. Perform a test run for at least 30 seconds
with-out load. Do not use damaged, out of round
or vibrating grinding tools.
