13. ADJUSTMENTS

13.1 TONE ARM ADJUSTMENT
1. With the power ON place a test record (PLS-2001 or
PLS-4001 side A up) on the turntable.
2. Press the START /STOP button and check the position
of the tone arm as it comes to rest on the record.
3. Lift the dust cover and turn the adjustment screw
until the tone arm comes into I ine with the record.
• When the tone arm comes to rest to the right of the lead­
in groove, (when the count is lower than the standard
count tilerance) turn the adjustment screw O counter­
clockwise.
• When the tone arm comes to rest to the left of the lead­
in groove, (when the count is higher than the standard
count tolerance) turn the adjustment screw O clock­
wise.
• When using the test record the position will be set for
30cm records.

13.2 TRACKING SENSOR GAIN AND OFFSET
ADJUSTMENT
• Gain Adjustment
1. Remove the dust cover and panel cover.
2. Connect a DC voltmeter to CN5 pin 4 (GND) and pin 5
(TRKG).
3. Turn screwfjcounterclockwise and pull the carriage unit
forward.
4. Turn on the power and while pushing the tone arm
toward the center (as shown in the illustration) adjust
VR201 (TR KG) until the DC voltmeter registers 3V
± 0.1V.
• Offset Adjustment
5. Return the tone arm to the rest position. (It will return
by itself when you release it.)
6. To adjust it, turn screwfj clockwise until the DC volt­
meter registers 1.0V ± 0.1 V.
