Use 123 mode to enter numbers into a text field.
To switch to 123 mode, press the Left Soft Key

Use Symbols mode to enter common symbols into a text field.

switch to Abc mode, press the Left Soft Key

To enter symbols:

Tip: You can also press the key for the number corresponding to a
symbol.
