Preparation
Measuring instruments: Wow-flutter meter / Oscilloscope / Millivoltmeter / Low frequency
generator / Attenuator
Test tape: TTA-100 / TTA-300 (or TTA-310, 320) / TTA-200 / TTA-602 (or equivalent playback/
record test tape)
10. Tape Speed Adjustment (DECK 2)
Requirement: Wow-flutter meter (frequency counter)
Test tape: TTA-100 (3kHz)
Test point: HP OUT
Adjustment location: SFR1
1) Connect HP OUT of the unit to the wow-flutter meter.
2) Insert the test tape (TTA-100) into DECK 2. Forward and play back the middle part of the
tape and adjust SFR1 so that the level is 3000Hz ± 5Hz.
11. Tape Speed Check (DECK 1)
Requirement: As instructed in 1
1) Insert the test tape (TTA-100) into DECK 1. Play back the middle part of the tape and check
that the speed compared to that of DECK 2 is ranged within ± 55Hz.
12. Wow-flutter Check (DECK 1, DECK 2)
Requirement: As instructed in 1
1) Connect HP OUT of the unit to the wow-flutter meter.
2) Set the wow-flutter meter to JIS for INDICATOR and W RMS (WTD) for mode.
3) Play back the middle part of the test tape (TTA-100) and check that the level is 0.25% or less.
13. Head Azimuth Adjustment (DECK 1, DECK 2)
TE
L 13942296513
Requirement
Measuring instrument: Oscilloscope
Test tape: TTA-300 (10kHz)
Test points: TP8 (Lch), TP9 (Rch)
Adjustment location: Head azimuth adjustment screw
1) Connect the CH1 probe of the oscilloscope to TP8 (Lch) and the CH2 probe to TP9 (Rch).
2) Set the V mode of the oscilloscope to ADD.
3) Insert the test tape (TTA-300) into DECK 1. Forward and play back the middle part of the
tape and adjust the head azimuth adjustment screw so that the waveform during playback
of 10kHz becomes maximum.
4) After adjustment, secure the screw with bonding (1600B).
5) Apply the above steps 3 and 4 to DECK 2.
14. Playback Frequency Check (DECK 1, DECK 2)
Requirement
Measuring instrument: Millivoltmeter
Test tape: TTA-300 (315Hz / 10kHz)
Test points: TP8 (Lch), TP9 (Rch)
1) Connect the CH1 of the Millivoltmeter to TP8 (Lch) and the CH2 to TP9 (Rch).
2) Insert the test tape (TTA-330) into DECK 1 and play back 315Hz and 10kHz.
3) Check that the level of 8kHz is within ± 3dB compared to the output level of 315Hz as
a reference.
4) Apply the above steps 2 and 3 to DECK 2.
