Step 1 Turn the Camera On and Select A (Auto) Mode

This section describes how to take pictures in A (auto) mode, an automatic, "point-
and-shoot" mode recommended for first-time users of digital cameras.

Press the power switch to turn on the camera.
• The power-on lamp (green) will light for a moment and
the monitor will turn on. The lens will also extend.
• Proceed to step 4 when A is displayed on the
monitor.

Press the A button.

Use the rotary multi selector to choose A and
press the k button.
• The camera enters A (auto) mode.

Check the battery level and number of
exposures remaining in the monitor.
