Setting the Exposure for Shooting (A, B, C, D Modes)

A, B, C, D Modes

By rotating the mode dial, you can shoot pictures in the following four exposure
modes: A (programmed auto), B (shutter-priority auto), C (aperture-priority auto),
and D (manual). In addition to allowing you to set the shutter speed and aperture
yourself, these modes offer control over a variety of advanced settings such as
changing the ISO sensitivity and white balance in the shooting menu (A73).

Settings that are frequently used for A, B, C and D shooting modes can be saved
in mode dial M. Rotating the mode dial to M enables you to shoot pictures using
the saved settings that are used frequently (A98).

Functions Available in A, B, C and D Modes
• The flash mode (A34) can be changed, and the self-timer (A37), focus mode (A38) and
exposure compensation (A41) settings can be adjusted.
• Press the d button to adjust the shooting menu (A73) settings.
