When ejecting the saw blade, hold the ma-
chine in such a manner that no persons or
animals can be injured by the ejected saw
blade.
Turn the SDS lever 10 toward the front in the di-
rection of the contact protector 13. The saw
blade is released and ejected.
Dust/Chip Extraction
Dusts from materials such as lead-containing
coatings, some wood types, minerals and
metal can be harmful to one's health. Touch-
ing or breathing-in the dusts can cause aller-
gic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infec-
tions of the user or bystanders.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are
considered as carcinogenic, especially in
connection with wood-treatment additives
(chromate, wood preservative). Materials
containing asbestos may only be worked by
specialists.
– Use dust extraction whenever possible.
– Provide for good ventilation of the work-
ing place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-
class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your
country for the materials to be worked.
Dust Cover
Mount the dust cover 15 before connecting the
machine to the dust extraction.
Place the dust cover from the front into the
guide so that it latches.
For work without dust extraction, the dust cover
15 can be removed. To remove the dust cover
15, grasp it by the side and pull it off toward the
front.
Connecting the Dust Extraction
Place a vacuum hose 3 (accessory) onto the vac-
uum connection 4. Connect the vacuum hose 3
with a vacuum cleaner (accessory). An overview
for the connection of various vacuum cleaners
can be found at the end of these instructions.
Bosch Power Tools
)
Switch the saw dust blower off when a dust
extraction system is connected (see "Sawdust
Blower Device").
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the ma-
terial being worked.
When vacuuming dry dust that is especially det-
rimental to health or carcinogenic, use a special
vacuum cleaner.
Splinter Guard (see figure C)
The splinter guard 19 (accessory) can prevent
fraying of the surface while sawing wood. The
splinter guard can only be used for certain saw
blade types and only for cutting angles of 0°.
When sawing with the splinter guard, the base
plate 6 must not be moved back for cuts that are
close to the edge.
Press the splinter guard 19 from the bottom into
the base plate 6.
Operation

Operating Modes

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Adjusting the Cutting Angle (see figures D–E)
The base plate 6 can be swivelled by 45° to the
left or right for mitre cuts.
Remove the dust cover 15 (see "Dust Cover")
and pull the saw blade storage 5 out of the base
plate 6.
Insert a saw blade 11.
Loosen the screw 20 and lightly slide the base
plate 6 toward the vacuum connection 4.
For adjustment of precise mitre angles, the base
plate has adjustment notches on the left and
right at 0°, 22.5° and 45°. Swivel the base plate
6 to the desired position according to the scale
8. Other mitre angles can be adjusted using a
protractor.
Afterwards, push the base plate 6 to the stop in
