    SPECIFIC RULES FOR BAND SAW 11. Small pieces should be secured with clamps or fixtures. Do not hold small pieces with your hand because your fingers might go under the blade guard. 12. Support round work properly (use a V block or press it against the miter gauge) to prevent it from rolling and the blade from biting.

    ASSEMBLY UNPACKING Carefully unpack the band saw and all its parts, and compare against the list below. Do not discard the carton or any packaging until the band saw is completely assembled. WARNING: If any part is missing or damaged, do not plug in the band saw until the missing or dam- aged part is replaced.

    ADJUSTMENTS UPPER BLADE GUIDE ADJUSTMENT The height of the upper blade guard should be adjusted prior to every op- eration to accomodate the height of the workpiece (the blade guard should be no more than one-fifth of an inch (3mm) from the upper edge of the workpiece).
