Troubleshooting

Problem: The infant car seat will not
securely attach to the base.
Possible solution: The vehicle belt
buckle stalk may be too long (A).
Consult your vehicle owner's manual
to see if you can lower the vehicle
buckle position by twisting the vehicle
buckle stalk a maximum of three full
rotations to shorten to appropriate
length (B).
Be sure the vehicle buckle release is
facing outward after twisting.
Possible solution: Adjust the infant
car seat base to a higher position to avoid any potential
interference with the vehicle belt buckle. Ensure that the
infant car seat recline indicator is in an allowable position
once installed.
Problem: The harness straps do not tighten evenly.
Possible solution: The harness retainer clip (under the seat
cover) is not in the correct location. Remove the seat cover
as shown on page 39 and center the retainer clip.
Problem: The buckle will not fasten with a click after each
tongue is inserted.
Possible solution: There may be debris in the buckle
mechanism. Clean the buckle as described on page 43 and
try fastening the buckle again.
