impedance systems turn the tap selector to the 8-ohm position.Keep in mind the capability of the amplifier working safely with loads less
than 4 Ohms. If you need more speakers, you would be wise to create a Constant Voltage System that allows the use of many more
speakers with a single channel of amplification.
HIGH-IMPEDANCE/CONSTANT-VOLTAGE SYSTEM:
Diva™ 55
The
features an internal line-matching transformer with four power/impedance selections for 70/100-volt line. In speaker
systems, anything over 32Ω is considered high impedance. Smaller wire can be used without excessive power loss.
The switchable power taps are:
• 7.5W, 15W, 30W and 60W (70 volt)
• 15W, 30W, 60W (100 volt)
You connect your speaker cable from the 70v or 100v output of your amplifier (or to an external line transformer if you are using a low
impedance amplifier and want to use it as a constant voltage amplifier) to the input terminals of the speaker. You will then adjust the
wattage of the transformer using the rotary switch under the logo medallion, to the correct setting.
As you would with any audio system, you figure out how many speakers you want to use and then divide that into the wattage of your
power amplifier - you should not exceed that load.
