The Katadyn Base Camp Microfilter meets industry standards for reduction of bacteria (99.9999% Klebsiella terri- gena) and protozoan cysts (99.9% Giardia and Cryptospori- dium). It is designed to be filled with water and suspended so that gravity does all the work.

Page 3: Normal Operation
Install Filter Cartridge Press cartridge into external threaded opening of bag until the o-ring can no longer be seen. This may require some effort. A small amount of silicon grease on the cartridge o-ring will aid the insertion. Do not grasp the cartridge around the pleated surface, since it may damage the filter. - Page 4 Open hose valve to begin water flow. Close valve to stop flow. Ensure valve is in open position while filtering. Field Performance Tips The Katadyn Base Camp is designed to remove bacteria and protozoan cysts such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. To extend cartridge life, always use the best water source available and use Filter Protector.

Cartridge Capacity Cartridge capacity depends on water quality. To extend cartridge life, use filter protector and clean regularly. The Katadyn Base Camp was tested at 200 gallons and found effective for removal of bacteria and protozoan cysts like Giardia and Cryptosporidium. -
