SYSTEM INSTALLATION

The door system consists of five main subassemblies. These are the base plate assembly, drive assembly,
door panel assemblies (LH and RH) and the portal seals. The installation of these should be done in the
following sequence:

BASE PLATE ASSEMBLY

The base plate is located between the "A" and "B" pillar and is attached with customer supplied 5/16"
fasteners.
DRIVE ASSEMBLY
1. Place the drive assembly on the base plate and secure with the following fasteners:
6—slotted countersunk M6 X 20 screws
6—6mm split lock washers
6—6mm nuts
2. Install the upper seal assembly, but do not tighten the screws at this time.
DOOR PANELS AND PORTAL SEALS
1. Locate and drill the mounting holes for the lower door bearing according to the 2917.00 installation
drawing.
2. Insert the spline shafts (located at the top of each panel) through the sealed ball bearings, located at
each end of the base plate assembly, and into the crank arm support tubes.
3. Temporarily secure the lower door bearing of each panel to the step.
4. With the portal seal installed in the retainer (as shown in 2917.00) and the door panel held in the
closed position, locate the seal assembly by compressing the seal 1/16" to 1/8" against the inside face
of the door panel.
5. Mark the location of the seal assemblies.
6. Remove the door panels.
7. Position the seal assemblies at the location marked and match drill for a #6 pan head screw.
8. Attach seal assembly to portal using customer supplied #6 pan head screws.
9. Reinstall door panels.
10. Attach lower door bearing using the supplied backing plates and the following fasteners:
6—5/16"—18 X 1" countersunk socket head screws
6—5/16" (8mm) countersunk lock washers
11. With both door panels held in the closed position, slide the upper seal in or out until full contact is
achieved.
12. Tighten the upper seal screws.
ELECTRICAL AND PNEUMATIC CONNECTIONS
1. Locate the air filter in a serviceable heated location, allowing for drainage of the accumulated mois-
ture.
2. Observe the direction of air flow indicated on air filter then connect the air according to the schematic
on 2917.00.E.
3. Make the necessary electrical connections as shown on drawing 2917.00.E.
