MAINTENANCE
Read all of SAFETY and this section before attempting any procedure. Pay particular attention to Notices, Cautions, Warnings and Dangers.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

Preventative maintenance, applied at recommended intervals, is the best guarantee to keep the vehicle dependable.
This vehicle will give years of satisfactory service with regular maintenance. Refer to the PERIODIC SERVICE SCHED-
ULE for applicable service intervals.

LIFTING THE VEHICLE

To decrease the risk of severe injury or death from
a vehicle falling from a jack:
Always put chocks in front and behind the wheels
not being lifted.
Make sure the vehicle is on a solid and level sur-
face.
Never get under a vehicle while it is held by a
jack.
Use jack stands and test the stability of the vehi-
cle on the stands.
Use extreme care because the vehicle is very...
unstable during the lifting procedure.
When lifting the vehicle, position the jacks and jack
stands at the areas indicated.
Remove the payload from vehicle before you lift. Persons must NOT be in or on the
vehicle while lifting.
To lift the entire vehicle, install the wheel chocks in front and behind each front wheel.
Center the jack below the rear axle tube next to differential housing or below the skid
plate. Lift the vehicle and position the jack stands below the frame where indicated.
Lower the jack and test the stability of the vehicle on the two jack stands.
Position the jack below the center front of the car just behind the bumper. Lift the vehicle
and position the jack stands below the frame where indicated.
Lower the jack and test the stability of the vehicle on all four jack stands. To lift only the
front or rear of the vehicle, position the wheel chocks in front and behind the wheels that
are not to be lifted. The jack can be left below the center front of the frame while the front
end of the vehicle is on the jack stands.
Lower the vehicle by reversing the lifting sequence.
