Configuring Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings
Configure the phone's Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings,
including the phone's name and password, and set the
visibility of the phone's Wi-Fi hotspot.
Tip: By default, your device's Portable Wi-Fi hotspot is visible,
and any device can connect. For more information about
configuring your mobile hotspot, see "Configuring
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" on page 147.
Securing Your Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot
Your Portable Wi-Fi hotspot includes a generated password to
limit access. To further limit access to your Portable Wi-Fi
hotspot, do either or both of the following:
Create an allowed device list and set the connection mode for
allowed devices.
"Hide" your Mobile hotspot.
To set up these options, see "Configuring Portable Wi-Fi
hotspot" on page 147.

Turning Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot ON
Turn Portable Wi-Fi hotspot ON to allow other devices to use
your phone to access your Wireless Provider's Internet
connection.
1. From the Home screen, touch
Connections
portable hotspot.
2. Touch the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot slider
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot ON.
Connecting a Device Using Portable Wi-Fi
Hotspot
Use the other device's Wi-Fi control to connect to the phone's
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
On your phone:
1. Turn Portable Wi-Fi hotspot ON. (See "Turning Portable
Wi-Fi Hotspot ON" .)
On the other devices:
2. Activate Wi-Fi.
3. Scan for Wi-Fi hotspots, and select your phone from
the list. (To find your phone's name, see "Configuring
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" on page 147.)
