3.. Suspension Structure (Give site of suspension
strong structure.)
3..1. Wooden structure (Fig. 3-)
• Select tie beam (one-story houses) or second-floor girder (two-story houses) as
reinforcement member.
• Use sturdy beams of at least 6 cm square for beam pitch of 90 cm or less or of at
least 9 cm square for beam pitch of 90-180 cm.

3... Ferroconcrete structures (Fig. 3-3)
Secure the suspension bolts using the method shown, or use steel or wooden
hangers, etc. to install the suspension bolts.
E Use inserts rated at 100-150 kg each (procure locally)
F Suspension bolts M10 (3/8") (procure locally)
G Steel reinforcing rod
3..3. Installing the suspension bolts
• Check the pitch of the suspension bolts.
• Use the ø10 (3/8") suspension bolts (×4, procure locally).
• Adhere strictly to the length of the suspension bolts.

4.1. Indoor unit
• When commercially available copper pipes are used, wrap liquid and gas pipes
with commercially available insulation materials (heat-resistant to 100 °C or
more, thickness of 12 mm or more).
• The indoor parts of the drain pipe should be wrapped with polyethylene foam in-
sulation materials (specific gravity of 0.03, thickness of 9 mm or more).

Connecting the piping (Fig. 4-1)
1. When using separately purchased refrigerant pipes:
a) Procedures for connecting the piping
Make sure that the stop valve on the outdoor unit is fully shut (the unit is always
shipped with the valve shut). Remove the caps from the piping and the unit and
make the flare connection as soon as possible (within five minutes). Repeat this
process for each connection.
If you remove the caps and leave the piping open for an extended period of
time, dust, moisture and other foreign matter may get into the unit and cause
damage. If this happens, use a refrigerant (R-22) to clean out the piping before
connecting to the unit.
b) Precautions with flexible tubing
• Use flexible tubing for indoor piping connections only.
• Avoid bending to angles more acute than 90°. Avoid bending the same tube
more than three times.
• Locate bends as near as possible to the center of lengths of piping and make
sure that bends have as large a radius as possible.
2. When using commercially available copper pipes, make sure that the stop valve
on the outdoor unit is fully shut (the unit is always shipped with the valve shut).
After completing all piping connections between the indoor and outdoor units,
vacuum-clean air from the system via the service port for the outdoor unit's stop
valve.
3. After completing procedure 1 or 2 above, open the outdoor unit stop valves fully.
This completes the procedure for connecting the refrigerant circuit between the
indoor and outdoor units. Instructions for the stop valve are marked on the out-
door unit.
• Apply a thin layer or refrigerant oil to the pipe and the joint seating surface
before tightening the flare nut.
• Use two wrenches to tighten piping connections.
• Use the refrigerant piping insulation provided to insulate the indoor unit connec-
tions. Insulate carefully following the enclosed instructions.
