Wipe both sides of grille with a
clean cloth lightly dampened with
mild liquid dishwashingdetergent,
or clean with a vacuumcleaner
brush. Be careful not to force the
movablelouvers out of position.
Other areas behind the grille may
be wiped or vacuumed, takingcare
not to damage the coil fins.
Wash cabinet with mild soap or
detergent and lukewarm water.
Never use strong Chemica#s,
solvents or'bleaching agenh.

These coils on the weather side
of the unit should be checked
periodically and cleaned if clogged
with dirt or sootfromtheatmosphere.
If extremely soiled, they may need
tobes-

Air
miter
The air filter behind the front grille
shouldbe checked and cleaned at
least every 30 daysor as often as it
needs cleaning.
To
remove
the filter:
Grasp the tab at the bottom lefi side
of the unit and pull downward.
Clean the filter with a vacuum
cleaner to remove light dust. Wash
the filter in lukewarm, soapy water
and rinse in clear water to remove
sticky dust.
When replacing the filter, be sure
the word FRONT is facing you as
you slide the filter back into place.
If your air conditioner is mounted
flush inside the room or if the
window sill extendsfurther into the
room than the chassis, it maybe
necessary to removethe front grille
before the filter can be removed.

To
remove
the grille:
1. Gras~ the bottom of the grille
and sw~ngit towardyou ab;ut 30
degrees.
2. Slide the grille upward to free
the three tabs at the top of the grille
from slots in the top of the cabinet.
The air filter can now be removed
from the grille—grasp the tab on
the filter and pull.
After cleaning, replace the air filter
and grille, hooking top of grille
onto top of cabinet and pushi~~g
bottom of grille in until it snaps
into place.
