VII. L Board Replacement & Alignment
The L board contains the DMD IC with the microprocessor mirrors in the DLP light
engine.
Picture centering is necessary after replacing the Light Eng
R emoval Procedure
Refer to figure 51.
1. The L board is behind the shield. Remove the shield (3 brass screws) to e
the recessed L board mounting screws.
2. Remove the 3 recessed mount screws
Reassembly / Alignment Procedure
Refer to figures 51 and 52.
1. Do not tighten the 3 recessed screws that mount the new L board.
2. Loosen the 2 left side black screws.
3. Turn on the TV and move the L board to coarse center the picture using a mirror
to see the screen, and then tighten the black screws. No black borders must
appear on the screen. Check all 4 sides.
4. Recheck th e picture, tighten the 3 recessed screws and mount the shield.
5. Fine positio n the picture by moving the lens at the front of the TV. See the
mechan ical position and focus alignment procedure in the Appendix VIII.
